Types of Inspections You’ll Perform

What the Job Entails


  • Travel: Inspectors spend most of their time driving to properties. Inspections, including data collection and entry, typically take 2–10 minutes on-site.
  • Deadlines: Standard turnaround times range from 5 to 7 days, with occasional 24-, 48-, or 72-hour rush requests.
  • Workload:
  • Urban Areas: Inspectors may complete 200–300 inspections monthly (50–80 daily stops).
  • Rural Areas: Inspectors typically complete 30–100 inspections monthly (10–20 daily stops).

Compensation


Payment per inspection varies on location, inspection type, and volume.

Equipment Requirements


To perform inspections efficiently, you’ll need:

Smartphone: iPhone or Android with a camera and geotagging GPS functionality (4G or better recommended).

Reliable Vehicle: Fuel-efficient and dependable for frequent travel.

Computer with Internet: Desktop or laptop with high-speed internet access for data entry and reporting.

Optional but Helpful Tools
